You’re Not Just a Blogger, You’re a Scribe

Let me say it loud for the women in the back—

You’re not just a blogger, content creator or social media influencer.

You’re a Christian Scribe.

You weren’t called to just “create content.”

You were called to carry the Word. To partner with Heaven. To write what God says, not just what trends.

And if you’ve ever felt overlooked, unseen, or like your blog or platform doesn’t really matter? Or thought, well I don’t have a blog or website, I just share content on social media to encourage others, that’s not really a ministry.

Sis—that’s a lie straight from the pit.

Because in God’s Kingdom, even one post written in obedience can shift someone’s entire life. No matter if that post is written to perfection on a blog, online platform or a quick note of encouragement on a personal social media profile.

I know this personally. There was a time I doubted whether my words mattered. Whether showing up to blog, week after week, with only a handful of readers was even worth it. But the Lord reminded me—“You don’t write for applause. You write for obedience.” “You don’t write for the algorithm or for the google ranking. you write for Kingdom Purpose, for those I will put you in front of.” And then the messages started rolling in… “That post was exactly what I needed.” “It felt like God was speaking directly to me.” “Sis, thank you so much I really needed this today.”

That’s when I knew: I wasn’t just blogging.

I was scribing for Kingdom Purpose!

If you’re still learning how to trust God’s direction in your calling, read Embracing God’s Blueprint for Your Life.

Cozy pink and white desk setup with the title “What Is a Christian Scribe?” and a definition about recording revelation and writing with divine assignment.
What is a Christian Scribe?

What Is a Christian Scribe?

A Scribe isn’t just someone who writes.

A Scribe records revelation.

In biblical times, scribes were trusted with sacred assignments:

They weren’t casual note-takers—they were spiritual secretaries of Heaven.

So what does that look like today?

Christian Scribes today now carry the message through:

  • Blogs
  • Devotionals
  • Journals
  • Books
  • Social media posts
  • Email encouragement
  • Online courses and teachings

Being a Christian Scribe means writing with divine assignment.

It’s not about going viral. It’s not about being a trending influencer or everyone knowing your name.

It’s about being a vessel of Heaven’s heartbeat.

Biblical Proof: Yes, This Is a Real Calling

Ezra 7:10 says:

“For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the Law of the Lord, and to do it, and to teach statutes and ordinances in Israel.”
— Ezra 7:10 (NKJV)

Ezra wasn’t just a student of the Word—he was a doer and a teacher.

That’s what Christian scribes are called to do today:

Study. Obey. Release.

Jesus even mentioned the value of a Scribe trained for the Kingdom:

“Every scribe instructed concerning the kingdom of heaven is like a householder who brings out of his treasure things new and old.”
— Matthew 13:52

Signs You Might Be Called as a Scribe

Let’s make this real. If you’ve ever:

  • Felt a deep urge to write after spending time in the Word
  • Received “downloads” from the Holy Spirit that burned until you shared them
  • Journaled prophetic dreams, prayers, or spiritual insights
  • Wrestled with fear, perfectionism, or imposter syndrome around your writing
  • Had someone say, “That post was exactly what I needed today”

Then you’re probably a Scribe.

This isn’t just creativity. It’s divine commissioning.

Why the enemy fights your voice so hard?

Why the Enemy Fights Your Voice So Hard

Let’s be real for a second:

The enemy doesn’t attack what isn’t powerful.

He targets Scribes because words are weapons.

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.”
— Proverbs 18:21 (NKJV)

“A gentle tongue [with its healing power] is a tree of life, but willful contrariness in it breaks down the spirit.”
— Proverbs 15:4 (AMPC)

Your obedience to write truth can break strongholds.

Your blog post can plant seeds of salvation.

Your testimony can unlock someone else’s breakthrough.

That’s exactly what I shared in “From Broken to Bold—when healing births your creative calling.”

Your social media post can bring a word in due season for someone at there breaking point.

So the warfare is real:

  • Writer’s block
  • Imposter syndrome
  • Inconsistency
  • Feeling like “no one’s reading”
  • Perfectionism that keeps you paralyzed
  • And even attacks on your home, family and relationships (both personal & ministry relationships)

But don’t be fooled.

“No weapon formed against you shall prosper…”
— Isaiah 54:17 (NKJV)

“The weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds.”
— 2 Corinthians 10:4 (NKJV)

The battle for your voice only proves how much your words matter.

“Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.”
— Ephesians 4:29 (NKJV)

How to Walk Boldly in Your Scribe Anointing

Here are some intentional steps to help you embrace your identity as a Christian Scribe:

Start with the Holy Spirit.

Before you write anything, pause and ask:

“Lord, what do You want to say today?”

Create from rest, not hustle.

You don’t have to strive to prove yourself. Your worth is not in your stats—it’s in your obedience.

For more on prophetic rest and writing from overflow, read Come to the Well.

Anchor your content in Scripture.

Trends come and go, but the Word of God never returns void (Isaiah 55:11).

Set up a sacred writing rhythm.

Dedicate time and space where you meet with God and write from overflow. Keep a Scribe’s journal. Be intentional with your voice.

Speak the truth—even if it’s uncomfortable.

You don’t have to water it down. Your boldness in love will reach exactly who it’s meant for.

A Prayer for Christian Scribes

Father,

I lift up every woman reading this who feels the tug to write for You.

Silence every lie of insignificance and stir up their prophetic voice.

Anoint their hands to write with power, their eyes to see in the Spirit,

and their hearts to carry the burden of Heaven with joy.

Let their words be like fire.

Let their obedience birth deliverance.

And let the scribal anointing rise in full measure in this generation.

In Jesus’ name, amen.
