Reflection
A new season can bring a mixture of excitement and uncertainty. On one hand, the thought of fresh opportunities can spark hope; on the other, embracing the unknown can feel overwhelming. As we step into the unknown, the story of Joshua offers a powerful reminder of finding strength in God’s faithfulness and His call to trust Him in all circumstances.

Imagine Joshua’s emotions as he took on the monumental task of leading the Israelites into the Promised Land after Moses’ death. The weight of responsibility, coupled with the uncertainty of what lay ahead, must have been daunting. Yet, God’s words to Joshua were clear and comforting: “Be strong and courageous… for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” That same promise is extended to us today. God’s presence is steadfast, and He walks with us through every transition, no matter how unfamiliar or challenging it may seem.
Transitions, whether big or small, are often crossroads that test our faith. In these moments, it is vital to cling to God’s Word and allow His promises to be the foundation of our courage. The more we internalize His truth, the stronger our faith becomes. This doesn’t mean we won’t face fears or doubts, but it assures us that we are not alone. As God was with Joshua, so He is with us as we embrace the unknown.
Every new season is an invitation to trust God more deeply. We may not know what the future holds, but we know the One who holds it. His plans for us are good, and He works all things together for the benefit of those who love Him (Romans 8:28). Even when the path is unclear, we can move forward with confidence, knowing that He is guiding our steps. The act of trusting God in the unknown refines our faith and brings us closer to Him.
Remember:
Courage is not the absence of fear but the decision to trust in God’s presence despite it as we step into the unknown.
Key Points
1. Reflect on God’s Faithfulness in Past Transitions
Looking back on previous seasons, we can often see how God’s hand guided us through difficult times. He provided strength, wisdom, and provision just when we needed it. These memories of His faithfulness can anchor our faith as we step into the unknown. Reflecting on how He carried us through challenges in the past not only brings comfort, but also strengthens our resolve to trust Him again.

Reflecting on past seasons, I recognize the Faithfulness of God that has supported me in maintaining my blog despite challenges and feelings of wanting to give up. With no team except my supportive daughters and God, I often feel overwhelmed managing content for the blog and social media. There are times when life interrupts my publishing schedule, but God consistently provides the supernatural rest I need and sends encouragement to uplift my spirits and restore my productivity.
Take some time to journal specific instances where God showed up in your life during times of change. How did He answer prayers or provide resources? How did He give you peace when you needed it most? These reflections become testimonies of His unwavering presence. Sharing these stories with others can also encourage and inspire them to trust God in their own transitions into the unknown.
2. Step into the Unknown with Faith
Stepping out in faith doesn’t mean we have all the answers; it means we trust the One who does. Like Peter stepping out of the boat to walk on water, our focus must remain on Jesus. When we fix our eyes on Him, He gives us the confidence to move forward, even in uncertainty. Faith is the assurance that God’s plans for us are good, even when we can’t see the full picture.

When God called me to write and blog, I felt completely unprepared and overwhelmed, unsure of how to start or create a Blog Website from scratch. However, I believe that if God calls you to do something; He provides the necessary resources to succeed. While I don’t always execute it perfectly, God guides me back to His vision for His Daily Scribe, and I move forward with faith, trusting that His plan surpasses my own.
Sometimes, stepping into the unknown requires letting go of our need for control. It’s a surrender to God’s timing and His ways, trusting that He will open the right doors and close the wrong ones. This act of faith is a declaration that we believe in His goodness and His ability to guide us. Each step we take in obedience to His call strengthens our reliance on Him and prepares us for the blessings ahead.
3. Identify and Confront Fear of the Unknown
Fear can often hold us back from embracing the new things God has for us. Whether it’s fear of failure, rejection, or inadequacy, we must recognize these barriers and surrender them to God. His perfect love casts out all fear (1 John 4:18). When we name our fears and bring them before the Lord, we allow Him to replace them with His peace.

In the early days of His Daily Scribe, I struggled with fear and doubt about my writing, constantly seeking reassurance from God. Through scripture, the Holy Spirit provided me with peace and strength to continue. While I still worry about the impact of my blog, I find comfort in the growing audience and trust that God will guide my words to those who need them, reaffirming that my motivation is obedience to His calling rather than seeking approval from others.
Confronting fear doesn’t mean we won’t feel it; it means we refuse to let it control us. Instead, we take small, obedient steps forward, trusting that God will meet us along the way. Remember that courage grows as we practice it. Each time we take a step of faith into the unknown, we become more confident in God’s ability to sustain us. Encourage yourself with scripture, prayer, and worship to keep fear in check and faith at the forefront.
Application
Take a moment to reflect on where God may be calling you to step forward in faith. Write down one area of your life where you sense His leading. Then, identify one actionable step you can take this week to move in that direction. For example, if God is calling you to pursue a new opportunity, your step might be researching or praying specifically about it. If He’s asking you to leave something behind, start by setting boundaries or seeking accountability.
If you haven’t been in the secret place with God lately, it’s time to unlock that door. Unlocking the secret place is the first step in cultivating intimacy with God to know His will for our life.

Consider sharing your journey with someone you trust. Whether it’s a friend, family member, or spiritual mentor, accountability and encouragement can provide extra strength as you navigate this new season. Sometimes, others can see God’s hand in our lives more clearly than we can. Use these moments of sharing to also strengthen your support network.
Look for opportunities to celebrate small victories along the way. Acknowledging even the smallest steps of progress can encourage your faith and motivate you to keep going. God’s grace sustains us in every step, reminding us we are not walking this journey into the unknown alone. Each step is one step closer to get into alignment with your assignment.
