Planted With Purpose: Rooting Your Identity in Christ Before You Rise

When it feels like God forgot you—He’s actually forming you.

There’s a season in every woman’s life when the silence feels louder than any promise.

When the prayers feel unanswered. When the doors stay closed.

And when the weight of your brokenness makes you wonder…

“Did God forget about me?”

If that’s where you are right now, I want you to lean in, sis. Because I’m here to tell you the truth:

You are not buried. You are planted.

And God is doing something deep. He’s rooting your identity in Christ, even when you don’t feel worthy, seen, or strong enough to believe it.

A reminder for the brokenhearted woman who feels stuck—this isn’t the end. It’s the planting.

Brokenness Isn’t the End—It’s the Beginning

One of the enemy’s cruelest tactics is to convince you that you’re too broken to be loved, healed, or used by God. That your mistakes, your trauma, your silence, your sadness—it’s all too much.

But the Bible tells a different story.

“Unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much fruit.” —John 12:24

Jesus didn’t say we’d skip the dirt. He said life—abundant life—comes through it.

That grief you’re carrying?

That shame you haven’t told anyone about?

That feeling of being unseen or not enough?

None of it disqualifies you.

It’s a sign that God is doing the kind of deep, slow work that doesn’t just change your circumstances—it changes you.

He’s beginning the slow, steady process of rooting your identity in Christ—not in who left, not in what happened, not in how you feel—but in Him.

He never wastes a wound. He transforms it into glory.

The Hidden Work No One Claps For

If you’ve ever felt like you’re the only one who’s struggling, let me remind you: you are not alone.

So many women wear strength like armor but cry in silence. They serve, smile, and show up while silently wondering, “What’s wrong with me?”

But the truth is—some of God’s most powerful healing happens in silence. Not because He’s absent, but because He’s nearer than ever.

“Let your roots grow down into Him and let your lives be built on Him.” —Colossians 2:7

When God is rooting your identity in Christ, He’s pulling out the lies you’ve believed for too long:

  • “I’m too broken.”
  • “I’m not lovable.”
  • “I’ve messed everything up.”
  • “God’s done with me.”

And He replaces them with truths that hold even when life feels shaky:

  • “I am chosen.”
  • “I am deeply loved.”
  • “I am still here for a reason.”
  • “I am being healed, not discarded.”

What feels buried might just be the breakthrough in disguise.

God Is Not Afraid of Your Mess

Sis, you don’t have to clean yourself up before coming to God.

He is not afraid of your anger. Your numbness. Your questions. Your grief.

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” —Psalm 34:18

If you’ve been taught that you have to be “whole” to be worthy, let me gently say:

That is a lie.

God specializes in broken things.

In fact, the most beautiful transformation happens when we lay it all before Him—no pretending. Just honesty. Just surrender. That’s the beginning of rooting your identity in Christ—trusting that He won’t throw you away.

You’re Not Falling Apart—You’re Falling into Alignment

You may not see the fruit yet. You may still feel stuck, overlooked, or unworthy.

But sis, you are not forgotten. You are in a rooting season.

God is pulling you away from the labels and lies that have defined you:

  • “Too much”
  • “Too emotional”
  • “Too far gone”
  • “Too broken to be fixed”

And He’s gently speaking truth:

  • “You are mine.”
  • “You are still chosen.”
  • “You are seen.”
  • “You are safe here.”

This is the holy work of rooting your identity in Christ—and it’s happening beneath the surface, even when nothing seems to be changing on the outside.

Personal Testimony: How God Is Healing Me From Within

This post isn’t written from the other side of healing.

It’s written from the in-between.

From the slow, sacred stretch of rebuilding after loss.

There was a season I poured everything into holding things together. I prayed. I fasted. I believed for breakthrough.

And when nothing changed on the surface, it nearly broke me on the inside.

I didn’t want to let go. I wanted God to move the way I pictured in my head.

But eventually—I had to surrender.

Not out of defeat, but out of obedience.

I stopped trying to fix what wasn’t mine to fix.

I laid down my armor.

I let God be God.

And that was the day my healing truly began.

This journey has not been clean or linear.

Some days I feel strong, grounded, and free.

Other days, grief still surprises me.

But through it all—God has been so close.

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted…”

—Psalm 34:18

This isn’t just a verse to me—it’s been my oxygen.

Because even in the mess, even in the surrender, He reminds me:

“Daughter, you were never forgotten. You were being formed.”

This isn’t abandonment—it’s preparation.

Rooting My Identity in Christ… Not in My Circumstances

You can be walking with Jesus and still feel overwhelmed.

You can be spiritually mature and still carry unhealed pain.

That doesn’t make you weak—it makes you human.

God is teaching me how to separate who I am from what I’ve walked through.

He’s redefining my worth—not through what I’ve endured, but through what He’s spoken.

He’s showing me who I am:

Without the pressure.

Without the shame.

Without the emotional heaviness I’ve worn like a second skin.

He’s showing me that I am His.

This is what it means to be rooted in Christ.

  • It means letting God tell me who I am again, without the voices that tried to erase me.
  • It means learning how to feel safe in my own skin.
  • To trust again.
  • To breathe again.
  • To walk with peace, I didn’t think I’d ever experience again.
  • And I know I’m not alone.

To the Woman Healing from Heartbreak or Hardship

If you’re reading this and you’ve been through it too—

Maybe your story doesn’t look like mine, but your pain still lives under your skin…

Let me tell you:

  • You are not too far gone.
  • You are not broken beyond repair.
  • You are not foolish for hoping or exhausted for finally letting go.
  • You are not too far gone to be rooted in truth again.

You are a daughter in process—

a woman being re-rooted, reformed, and revived by the hands of a good Father.

You don’t have to perform for peace.

You don’t have to strive to be seen.

You don’t have to earn your restoration.

You are already loved.

Already held.

Already planted—with purpose.

Final Truth

Sis… if He’s rooting your identity in Christ, it means He’s pulling up everything that isn’t Him.

That pruning can feel painful. But it is always preparation.

This is not the end of your story. This is the foundation of a new one.

You’re not rising yet, and that’s okay. Right now… you’re being rooted.

And when you do rise?

  • It won’t be for anyone’s approval.
  • It won’t be to prove anything.
  • It’ll be because you’re whole.

Healed. Held. And holy.
