The Winds of Change: When Life Doesn’t Go as Planned

“Winds of change don’t just blow things over—they blow the false things out.”

—Teresa Brooker

There comes a point in every woman’s journey when the winds shift unexpectedly. When life doesn’t go as planned. A door you thought was from God suddenly slams shut. A love story ends in heartbreak. A prayer seems to echo into silence.

Sis, I’ve lived it. I’ve cried in the dark asking, “God, where are You in all of this?”

Let me share with you what the storm taught me…

When Life Doesn’t Go as Planned

Sometimes life hits us with an unexpected turn—and it hurts.

Plans fall apart. People change. Your heart whispers questions you never thought you’d ask.

But here’s what I know for sure:

Jesus never changes. He is still your anchor in the storm, your comfort in chaos, and your guide through every unknown.

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” – Psalm 46:1 NKJV

Ocean scene with the scripture quote: “Even in the chaos, Jesus is near – Psalm 46:1.”
No matter how deep the waves or wild the winds, Jesus is your refuge and strength. He is present—even in the chaos.

A Story of Unexpected Love and Loss

I wasn’t looking for love—I was still grieving. But I believed what entered my life was from heaven.

Instead, I walked into a relationship filled with pain, deception, and abuse.

And yet… God.

Even in the devastation, He was faithful.

Even in the heartbreak, He stayed near.

Your story may not have unfolded how you hoped.

But our God is a Redeemer—He rebuilds what was meant to destroy you.

Testimony-style 4-panel image with the following text: “I thought I found a godly man… But what came next was abuse, heartbreak, and confusion. Still, Jesus never left my side. Your pain is not wasted. God will use your story.”
Your testimony matters. Even through pain and betrayal, Jesus stayed. He will use your story to bring healing and hope to others.

When Prayers Feel Unanswered

Have you ever begged God to fix something… and it didn’t get better?

It’s a bitter pill.

But sometimes, silence is mercy.

Sometimes, the absence of change is protection.

I learned this the hard way:

I moved without asking God if the relationship was really from Him.

Sis, feelings can fool us. Faith won’t.

Pray before you move.

Repentance: The Beginning of Healing

Let’s talk about something we don’t post about enough: repentance.

I had to come to terms with the truth—I ran ahead of God.

I chose a path that wasn’t mine. But when I turned back?

Grace met me there.

Not shame. Not condemnation.

Just open arms and a Savior ready to restore what I thought I ruined.

Repentance is the gateway to freedom.

5 Lessons Learned in the Storm

The storm was brutal. But it taught me more than comfort ever could.

Here are the 5 lessons I carry now like precious jewels:

  1. Pray before choosing. Proverbs 3:6 NKJV (Not just in relationships, but in every decision)
  2. Don’t ignore red flags. Job 34:3-4 NKJV
  3. Trust in God not your feelings. Proverbs 3:5 NKJV
  4. Repent Quickly. Acts 3:19 NKJV
  5. Your story will help someone else. Revelation 12:11 NKJV

If you’re in the fire right now, take heart—God is forging a testimony in the heat.

Like Kintsugi pottery, our broken places become the most beautiful when touched by God’s grace. He restores what we thought was too shattered.

God’s Grace Covers Our Mess

You may feel like your life is too messy to be used… but Sis, grace thrives in the mess.

God isn’t surprised by your broken pieces.

He doesn’t walk away—He walks in.

He restores. He rebuilds. He repurposes the pain.

Let Him rewrite your story.

A Final Encouragement

Before you say yes to anyone or anything again…

Ask the Lord: “Is this Your will for me?”

He’s not trying to slow you down.

He’s inviting you into a higher, holier way of living.

Let’s stop rushing and start resting.

Let’s walk in wisdom, not just desire.

You’re not too far gone. Your story is not over.

God is still writing your next chapter—and Sis, I believe it’s going to be beautiful.

Your story isn’t over. Let the Author of redemption write the next chapter—one filled with grace, purpose, and healing.
