Come to the Well: A Prophetic Call to Rest, Repentance, and Overflow

This isn’t just a devotional. It’s a divine interruption to come to the well!

A Holy Disruption in the Ordinary

God interrupted my morning coffee with the fragrance of water—and I knew it wasn’t about caffeine. It was about repentance.

There’s something sacred about early morning stillness. The world hasn’t quite woken up yet, and Heaven seems closer. That’s where I found myself—sleepy, pouring water into the coffeepot—when God caught me with a scent.

Not of coffee.

But of water.

Crisp. Clean. Alive!

At first, I thought maybe the city had treated the water supply. But no—this wasn’t natural. It was spiritual.

How many times had I filled that reservoir without noticing? Too busy. Too rushed. Too distracted. But that morning, a simple scent became a sacred summons.

COME TO THE WELL!!!COME TO THE WELL!!!COME TO THE WELL!!!

Slow down. That morning routine? It might just be your burning bush moment!

A Call to Slow Down and Repent

Conviction washed over me. I whispered a quiet but fierce prayer:

“Oh Lord, forgive me for my busyness and distraction. For the times I chose tasks over Your presence. Forgive me for dismissing Your wonders as ordinary. Slow me down, Lord. Help me notice. Fill me with Your refreshing water that cleanses deeper than bone and marrow. Renew my spirit and fill me to overflowing.”

PAUSE: When was the last time you repented for rushing past Him?

That morning routine? It might just be your burning bush moment.

A stream of water surrounded by trees with beams of sunlight shining down across the waters.
Times of refreshing come from the Lord.

What Does “Refreshing” Really Mean?

As I sat with my Bible and that now-slightly-cool cup of coffee, I asked the Lord:

“What are You trying to show me?”

The word I kept hearing?

“Refreshing.”

So I looked it up.

To refresh: to give new strength or energy; to reinvigorate.

The Word confirmed it:

Isaiah 28:12 (KJV):
“This is the rest… and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.”

Acts 3:19 (KJV):
“Repent ye therefore… when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.”

SIS, QUESTION FOR YOU:
Are you refusing rest like the Israelites did… because you’re pridefully trying to do it all?

“Let us strive to know the Lord… He will come to us like the rain…”
— Hosea 6:3 (CSB)

<<< I hear the whisper of the Holy Spirit asking, >>>

“How much is your disobedience worth to you?”
“You can never walk in the fullness and victory of the Lord without obedience first.”

A woman standing in front of a stream with hands held high in praise. rapids and boulders are scattered throughout the waters , surrounded by trees.
Out of your heart will flow rivers…

Living Water and Overflowing Springs

Water in Scripture is not just poetic—it’s prophetic.

John 7:38 (NKJV):
“He who believes in Me… out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”

The Spirit-Filled Life Study Bible puts it this way:

“Those who are satisfied by Jesus will themselves become channels of spiritual refreshment to others.”

Sis… you were made to overflow. But if your well is dry, you can’t pour into anyone.

Who around you needs the overflow that only comes when YOU are full? Come to the well!

Isaiah 41:18 (NKJV):
“I will open rivers in desolate heights… and fountains in the midst of the valleys…”

PROPHETIC PROMPT:
What if the thing you’re trying to fix externally is actually a symptom of your internal drought?

A beach with the calm ocean waters beneath a pink sky of scattered clouds. Come to the Well!
Come to the Well!

I knew this moment wasn’t just for me. Here’s what I heard the Lord say, and I believe it’s for YOU too:

Prophetic Word: “Come to My Reservoir,”

I will give you a new refreshing new strength and energy to walk in victory. When you seek Me and focus on Me, set the busyness aside. Rest in Me and you will be renewed with the refreshing of My living waters washing over you.

You cannot be a channel of spiritual refreshment for those I have put in your path if you do not refresh yourself in the waters of the secret place with Me.

Don’t you smell it? Don’t you see? The smell of the refreshing is as fresh flowing water. Being poured out in a reservoir, the bubbling, the swirling and flowing are life to your spirit.

Come to My reservoir and fill up, I am waiting for you. Won’t you come?
Leave the stagnant desert wilderness. Step into the overflowing springs of refreshing life-giving water I have prepared for you.

~God

PAUSE + PRAY: He’s inviting you. Will you come to the well?

A woman downcast with her head in her hands and elbows on her knees. An open Bible with a cup of coffee lay on the table with the words: Sometimes what you really need is living water.
Sometimes what you really need is living water. Come to the well!

Final Thoughts: When Coffee Turns into Communion

Sis, I just wanted a cup of coffee.

But God wanted to pour out something so much better—LIVING WATER.

Sometimes, divine refreshment shows up in the most ordinary of places. We just have to slow down enough to smell the Spirit.

Has this word stirred something in you? Drop a comment below or DM me—I’d love to pray for you.

Your coffee can go cold, sis.

Just don’t let your soul stay dry.

Maybe you’re seeking clarity with God’s vision, trying to align yourself with His will?

Sis, don’t just read this and move on. If God is stirring something in you—pause, journal, repent, and respond.

The well is open.

The invitation is now.

Let me know if this word was for you—I want to pray for you specifically.

Love + grace,
Teresa
